I Have a Subscription Box Addiction

Image
I'm a little late in the game to this craze but I gotta tell you I am now addicted. I'm going to share with you a few of my favorites Subscription boxes and a few others that were not the best. First, let's start with the favorites. Fabfitfun The Spring box I know you've seen this everywhere: Facebook, Instagram and even celebrity endorsements. This box contains around 5 items that focus on beauty, fitness, and fashion. I put off for the longest time trying this box because I just didn't get all the hype. Then I started looking at their website and their fitness videos.  If you're a subscripting member then you also get all of their online videos for free. I decided to give this box a try last spring because I really liked some of the items being offered in that box. I made the decision to try it for a full year which came to a one time payment of $179 ($44.75 per box) and for everything you get, it's totally worth the price.  One of the features...

The Lazy Girl's Guide to Beauty and Fashion

Image
These are items, services, and beauty routines that don't take a lot of time or effort. Now I'm no expert and I like to call myself a lazy beauty person. In high school, my nickname was the "pretty bum," I took that as a complement. Meaning I don't like to spend a lot of time getting ready but I also like to look good. Also, I now have a 20 month old so time is limited. I have divided this up for you into different categories . I will also have links to products that I use so you will be able to check them out if you are interested. Hope you enjoy and have a few laughs as well. Hair Lets start with what I do for my long sometimes untamed locks. Revlon Brush Revlon Volumizer Hair Styling Tips Tip one: get the Revlon one Step hair Dryer. This is a game changer. I have long, thick hair and it takes forever to dry. If I'm being completely honest most of the time I don't dry it all the way and just scrunch it.  I just don't have the time to...

My 5 Shopping Saving Tips

Image
Lets go over my 5 shopping tips to help you save money on your wardrobe. They will probably seem like no brainers when you think about it, but this is something that took me time to realize. Since committing to these, they save me not only money but also time and guilt. 1. I never make an impulse buy. Meaning I don't just buy things because they are on sale. I always make sure I have a use for them. I wish the young me would have known this. Sometimes when we see a good deal we jump on it or the buy more save more. You might be thinking "um Jess this post is all about saving money and now you are telling me not to save money?" What I'm saying is before I buy I think what's the purpose for this? How am I going to use this and when? If you don't have an answer or if the answer is I don't know yet, put the item down. I have seen amazing deals on fancy dresses and think wow $20 for this formal dress what a deal! But I don't have any weddings to go...

Make some extra cash reselling.

Image
This Girl is on Fire!! I know we all see those work from home platforms like jewelry, makeup and even fitness. Most of those companies make you buy their product first or a membership. Also, the only way you can make good money is by throwing parties and hitting up your friends and family or getting them to start selling. And let's face it sometimes no one wants to buy that stuff. So how can you truly make some extra cash without putting your own money up front? Reselling online. My App Home Screen The platforms I use are Poshmark and Mercari . These are easy to use apps where you post photos of your items, set the price and then list. When someone buys it, you ship it through your mail with the shipping label that the company provides. Once your customer receives the item you get paid (minus commission or shipping cost). You can use the items sold for shopping credit, or put it straight into your bank account. No up front cost if you sell your own things. Let's face...

Best ways to save with an App.

Perfect example of how saving very little can become a lot over time. Acorn  There's an App for that. You hear that everywhere and I decided to see what all the fuss was about. I am very passionate about saving and good money habits. We all know the money struggle is real and saving is not something everyone is doing. But what if it could be easier? I decided to try two money savings apps:  Acorns and RobinHood . I also have a site that I am trying called Reel . This site helps you save for big purchases by breaking them down into monthly, daily and even weekly deposits from your checking account. Information Robinhood provides on Stocks First, we will talk about Acorn and Robinhood . Both are saving/investing apps. I know that investing sounds scary. It use to be to me too. Saving with your bank is all good but you might as well be stuffing your money into your mattress. Interest rates are extremely low.  I want to save money and have the money I sav...
