I Have a Subscription Box Addiction

I'm a little late in the game to this craze but I gotta tell you I am now addicted. I'm going to share with you a few of my favorites Subscription boxes and a few others that were not the best. First, let's start with the favorites.

Fabfitfun

The Spring box
I know you've seen this everywhere: Facebook, Instagram and even celebrity endorsements. This box contains around 5 items that focus on beauty, fitness, and fashion. I put off for the longest time trying this box because I just didn't get all the hype. Then I started looking at their website and their fitness videos.  If you're a subscripting member then you also get all of their online videos for free. I decided to give this box a try last spring because I really liked some of the items being offered in that box. I made the decision to try it for a full year which came to a one time payment of $179 ($44.75 per box) and for everything you get, it's totally worth the price.  One of the features that I like the most is that you can customize your box to the items that you like or add additional items from past boxes that you may have missed. In the spring box, we also got the choice to donate to some awesome charities. I have loved all the items so far and the new brands I am exposed to.

Sephora Play and Macy's Beauty Box
Example of sample sizes I recieve

These are such fun beauty sample boxes and they're only $25 per month. They deliver sample size makeup, skin and hair care, as well as perfume samples right to your door. I can't tell you the last time I bought primer, cleanser or moisturizer. There's always a sample of these every month. That alone makes this a great value, not to mention the fun makeup samples to try. I never have to leave my house for makeup again. If I like something, I just purchase it and it comes right to my door.

Ellie Box
The March outfit

This is a Monthly workout gear box. I do the $49.99 a month box which includes three articles of clothing as well as two workout gear items, such as a water bottle or tension bands. The reason I love this box is not just because the items are supper cute and at such a great price, but the fact that I can see the items and pick between what is available for the month. If I don't like the options, I can just skip it and not get charged anything! (I haven't done this yet because I have been loving everything :) ) So far everything has been such great quality. I am totally one of those moms that wears her leggings even when she is not working out. #momuniform

Bark Box

This past months box theme!

This is just such a sweet and fun box for you and your fur babies. I love that every box has a theme! My dogs now get excited when a package comes. There are different level boxes you can get and you get a little bit of savings if you pay for a full year. I do yearly and it costs around $228 a box. We receive two plush toys, two bags of treats and a bone or chew item. All that for just $20 a month. That is a freakin steal!

Now the duds.

These ones just didn't work for me. Either they didn't go with my lifestyle, the quality was bad or I didn't think it was worth the price.

Boxy Charm
Bundle I sold on poshmark because I had too much stuff
First, I want to mention this one is a great value for the money. They only give out full size products, beauty brushes and tools. The reason I stopped using their service was because I don't really wear a lot of makeup. I noticed that my drawers were starting to fill up with the all of their items. I also started to give away products to my friends and family. I decided that the sample sizes were better for me and that I would get more use out of it. I ended my Boxy Charm and and for around the same price got my two sample boxes of Macy and Sephora.

Pop Sugar Limited Edition
Necklace that came in my box I sold on Mecari

At $200 to $100 per box and they usually are themed or sponsored by a store. The Neiman Marcus Box (the one I tried) seemed really expensive. They are not a monthly subscription service.  Instead, these are limited time only special editions that focus on makeup, jewelry and home decor.  I bought this thinking I would get some great Christmas gifts for the ladies on my list. Now don't get me wrong, I used all the items as gifts however nothing in here really impressed me. They mostly felt like stocking stuffers and not lux gifts. Nothing was wrong with the products, I just don't think it was worth the price.  I wish they still did their mystery box deals for $29. (This was left over products from past boxes) The home decor one was my favorite because it had the cutest little things for your kitchen and home decor. Those were so worth the price but unfortunately they no longer offer them. They have changed their service this year to a seasonal subscription for $75 a box or $270 a year.  I'm going to wait and see what items they come up with in the next two seasons before I decide if it's something that I want to try again.

Rachel Zoe Box of Style
This is a seasonal box which contains Fashion and Beauty products.
Earring I received and sold on poshmark
This Box I was the most disappointed by. I really had such high hopes because I just loved what was in the past boxes. I decided to sign up for the year which came to about $88 per box and figured for 5 to 6 items, it would give me the biggest bang for my buck. Boy was I disappointed by the quality of the products. I gave it a go for the full year, and in three out of four boxes there was a problem with an item I received. In the Spring box there was this really cute bag, but some of the rivets fell off of the strap the third day I used it.  In the fall box, the rings I received were tarnished. The winter box, my clutch had scratches all over the hardware and the earrings arrived with the posts bent. Though I did love the other items in the boxes, the constant problems really left me disappointed and doubting the other products. So Girl bye!

Say it with socks

I got this for a full year for my husband for our anniversary. I know what you're thinking, but he just loves fun crazy socks. The reason I'm ending this is because we got some repeat socks and we weren't that impressed by what we received. Most of the pairs were just weird colors and geometric shapes and not as whimsical as I was hoping for. Neat idea, just not what we expected or wanted.

Thank you for letting me share my new addiction with you. Let me know what your guilty pleasure is besides handbags and shoes of course! We all need a little help to #getyourchictogether
