My New To Me Fall Finds. New Fall Fashions For Less.

Image
I just love fall weather! It's not too cold and all you need is a coffee, a cozy sweater, jeans and booties. This is the only time of the year that I do any large shopping. I tend to spend most of my winter in leggings and sweaters, so fall is my time to replenish any clothes that I wore out last season. I also make an opportunity to get some fun, trendy pieces to make me smile when there's two feet of snow to shovel. Below are items I found on the second hand market and my must haves for fall going into winter. I will link similar style items you can get now and also the second hand finds that are still available. Sweaters I decided to go with some more neutral colors but upgrade the brands and materials. I've heard about Reiss brand as well as Karen Millen . They are more on the high-end of the market, but I thought they would be worth a try. The best way for me to try them out was to find them second hand. I decided to look for them on Thredup and P...

You know what really grinds my gears? Here are 25 things that just drive me nuts.

I thought it would be good fun to share with you some things that just Grind my Gears!  People always think I'm so positive, but if you only could hear my inner monologue. Today, I share these with you in hopes that you'll have a few laughs and that you won't use them to mess with me in the future. These are in no particular order. 1.  Doctor's offices concept of time. So I get there on time for my appointment but you don't see me until an hour later. I call you at 8:30am (you open at 8am) and your messaging says you are closed! "Please call back during normal business hours" you mean like right now the time I am calling you? Ahaaaaa 2.  Loud leggings as everyday wear. Everyone goes nuts for them on Facebook, but I don't understand them. I'm always trying to draw less attention to my thighs and butt, not broadcast them.   3. Bath bombs. I don't get them. They have crazy glitter and things in them. That doesn't seem very relaxing. R...

Our Crazy Parenting Style. How Does One Raise Their Kids Now?

Image
There are so many books and so much advice from family on how to raise and parent your kids. At the end of the day, it's ultimately up to you and your spouse or co-parents responsibility to decide what works best for you and your children. This post is all about what my husband and I have decided to do and so far it seems to work for our family. We're totally going to do some things wrong, but we're very proud of the outcome with our amazing son Jax. All we can do is our best. I still feel most days he looks at us like, "You people have no idea what you are doing, do you?" 1. He is a little person and his feelings are important! First, we decided we would always view our son as a person with fundamental rights. Now I'm not saying he dictates what happens on the daily, (we follow typical mommy law) but we do have his feelings in mind. When he's upset, it usually means he's frustrated with something. We notice his distress and ask him if we c...

5 Money Habits Of The Wealthy That You Can Do Too!

Image
Here are five habits that wealthy people do that you should too! These habits aren't very hard, but the rich want you to think that they are. Money is essential for life but is so taboo to talk about. I want to share with you what I've learned with the help of a few experts so that you can start thinking of your own wealth potential. 1. Talk to a Financial Adviser. This is a tip that most wealthy people practice. Notice that they have people helping them invest and have their money make them even more money. I use to think that this was something you had to have a lot of money to start doing, but that's completely a myth. Most banks have a Financial Adviser to help you setup retirement, life insurance and savings. I was also worried that they would judge me because of my debt. They never did! Financial Advisers also teach you tips to save money on taxes and put you on a plan for financial independence. I wish I would have done this in my 20's instead of my ea...

My Vintage Obsession!

Image
Fashion is always evolving and revolving. I've found that many of the latest and future trends can be found second hand, preloved, and 10+ years old. Let's take a look at my personal vintage collection and see why this is my obsession. 1. Being able to afford and get designer bags from when I was in high school This is something so satisfying as being able to create amazing looks with a piece that was around during my high school and college days. I remember watching Sex and the City and the movie Clueless and totally dreaming about one day working hard enough to afford a nice bag, shoes and clothing like that. 2. The quality You've heard the saying from your Grandparents and Parents: they don't make things like they use to anymore. This is so true when it comes to fashion. Clothing is now mass produced. To keep costs down and profits up the quality of materials have gone down, but the prices have seem to have gotten out of control. Investment fashion...
