What you need to get your summer on fleek

Image
Summer Summer Summer Time! Time to sit back and unwind. That's right people, summer is here! I can't believe we've made it. Winter was like an ex that just would not give up! Restraining order! Now that the warm weather is finally here, I have a list of things you need to get your summer on fleek. Outdoor space In order to enjoy summer, you need to actually go outside and take in the warm weather. I am so lucky to have a front porch and a back patio. I'm always outside with my son and dogs. The key to a great outdoor space is to make it comfortable and a fun place to be. I have two cabanas that not only provide much needed shade on hot days, but also convert into a day bed for those summer naps. The coffee table is also a fire pit! Did someone say s'mores? One of my favorite summer activities, besides s'mores, is stargazing. Just a blanket and a toasty fire is all you need. Seriously, stars are cool. A garden Audrey Hepburn sai...

Jax Tested Mother Approved!

Image
Meet Jax. Now that my son is almost two, I feel like I can give you my honest opinion on products that are worth the money. and those that you can just leave off your shopping list. My son takes his job of testing all these items very seriously. Have you ever seen those commercials where items are getting tested with sledge hammers, powerful wind and rain? His testing is something like that. Baby Furniture Tip: Pick furniture that grows with them. I wanting my son to have a cool boys room, so we went with Superhero's! I bought my furniture from Honest company , and all the items I have will grow with my son. I am hoping the theme and furniture will last for years to come but we also want to change his room as his interest and personality change. The crib will become a toddler bed and then a full size bed. Our changing table is attached to his dresser. Whenever he's out of diapers, it'll just be a dresser. We shouldn't have to purchase anything new for hi...

How to vacation like a boss!

Image
It's that time of year again, to get away for a bit and head on vaca! But what to pack? Where should we go? And what will we do? Here is my vacation simple survival guide. Where to go? Questions to ask: Do I want to drive or fly? How does my hair look in high humidity? Can I survive nine hours worth of Elmo? We have a 22 month old and would like to be within driving distance ( I feel like I still need our whole house to go anywhere). We decided we want to go to the ocean! One of the closest to us is the Jersey shore and Rehoboth beach area since we live in Northern PA. So we decided to head to Rehoboth Beach. Where to stay Questions to ask: What can I afford? Do I need a house because I brought everything in my house? Have I grown accustom to a certain standard of living? We decided to go with the a whole house, and to make it more affordable, we're going with college friends. We all have kids around the same age! Plus, we used to be fun together so we are ...

Summer is Fun! Here is what we forgot.

Now I know this is hard but I want you look back, way back. I mean it may be a little more for you people than for me. My internal age is 11, obviously. But try to remember when you were a kid in the summer and  how it was the most awesome thing ever! No school. No responsibilities. Just none stop fun. Now, we're all like "it's too hot and humid,"  "my electric bill is soooo high," and "are you trying to air condition the whole neighborhood?" Close the door. Come on people, let's embrace the heat and have fun with our little ones this summer. Here are some activities my son Jax and the fam are going to enjoy this summer Baby Pool This is a must. You'll find me most hot days poolside with my 22 month old. He just loves splashing and going in and out of his little pool. Getting wet on a hot day is always a fun time. Now I recommend dressing appropriately for the splash zone because you will get wet on this ride.  But to be completel...
