My Top Gift Picks For 2018

Image
It's that time of year again for holiday cheer, decor and of course gift giving. I love the holidays because I enjoy just being with my family and giving them something special. Now I know we get caught up in gift giving and all the twinkling lights, but I feel gifts that remind you and others just how special they are is the best kind of gift. I like to think of things that the person enjoys and really make it about them. Here are some ideas for gifts that will be enjoyed by the ones you love. Subscription Boxes First idea I thought of is subscription box services. These are such a fun gift idea because they get items all year round! My favorite is Fabfitfun . This box contains so many cute things from makeup to home decor and jewelry. It comes every quarter, so four times a year. There are also beauty boxes for the makeup lover and socks subscriptions for the man in your life (aka my husband) who can't live without whimsical socks. Check out some ideas on mysubscriptiona...

Holiday Shop Like a Boss!

Image
Do you want to save this holiday season and shop like a boss? You don't need to leave your family on Thanksgiving or wake up early the next morning. All you need is your computer, tablet or phone and you're off to the races. Plus, no shoes no shirt no problem, but it's totally cold so your girl has like two to three layers on at all times. Now, here is where and how I shop for all the best deals for those on my shopping list. Hope you enjoy! Make sure you subscribe because next week is my list of my top gifts!  How do I find the best deals? My secret weapon is Ebates ! This not only gives me cash back at my favorite stores, but it also acts as my personal shopper. I get emails showing me all the best black Friday's deals and before I checkout,  Ebates will load all the promo codes that are active for that site! No more code searching! But that's not all, if I'm shopping at another site they will notify me if that item is cheaper somewhere else. No m...

Investing is not as scary as you think!

Investing is something I was so scared to do when I was younger. I didn't understand how easy it was and I assumed that I would need a lot of money before I could start, or that I would probably lose it all if I even tried to do it on my own. That is far from the truth. You don't need to have lots of money and you should start investing as soon as you are in the workforce. Here are four ways I have chosen to invest. Retirement This you can't do on your own and you'll need some guidance from a professional . Don't worry, the cost is minimal and talking to them and setting up your retirement doesn't cost a thing. The standard amongst most employers is to offer a 3% match to a retirement account.  So you should in the very least put 3% of the money you make towards an IRA so you don't leave money on the table. What does this mean exactly? Well, when I first started out after college I made around $30,000 a year and I put 3% of that away into an IRA that ...

5 easy ways to make some extra Christmas shopping money.

The holidays will be here before you know it and it's important to stick to your budget. Here are my five tips to save and make some extra cash for everyone that's on your nice list this year. Number 1: Selling gently used or like new clothing and accessories that you're not using I send my clothing to Thredup and it's so easy. I request a free mailing bag online. Once it arrives, I pack it with my stuff and request a pick up with USPS and they will pick it up at my front door. It takes about two to three weeks for Thredup to give you a buyout quote, but you can request for it to be moved up for a small fee. They will give you either a store credit to use on their site shopping (they have many new with tag items) or they'll send you a Visa gift card. Selling items you no longer need is always fast, and it's an easy way to create some extra cash flow. There are also local facebook selling groups in your area for those bigger items you're looking ...
