Fashion and Beauty Hacks For the Everyday Fashionista.

When I became a Mom, I knew there would be some big changes in my life but I was determined to still be a fashionista.  I had a list of things to do because I was determined to be a "cool" Mom.

1. Still get dressed everyday (They are fresh leggings not last weeks leggings)
2. Wear Fab shoes (they are just a little lower)
3. Carry a cute handbag (they just have interesting cargo)
4. Wear some makeup when leaving the house. (big sunglasses and lipstick go a long way)

These are some tricks that keep my inner diva alive and my new Mom in check.


Top handle bag scarf trick

My first designer handbag was and LV Speedy 25 Monogram -- pictured above.  It was a top handle only and with my lifestyle change, my bag was left on the shelf.  Honestly, I thought I was going to sell it.  I was looking at one of my favorite YouTubers, MelSoldera, and she showed some bags on her wishlist and one if them was the New Dior evolution bag and they had it styled with a twilly scarf as their bag strap.  It was a classic Looney Toons moment when one's head is blown.  I wondered if I could do that with my bag?  Of course I thought of adding a bag strap to it, but to be honest those can damage your bag because they pull on the leather and scratch it.  A scarf will not scratch and is so light that the pulling is minimal.  I also made the scarf an added decoration of the bag.  You can do this will all kinds of bags.  Below I demonstrate with a Kate Spade bag.

Tie one end of the bag with your scarf

Then go across to the other side and tie make your nots are diagonal to each other.

You can leave the scarf as a decoration in the front.

This is a trick that helps me slide into my pointy and highest of shoes!  Lotion.  Just put some lotion on your foot right before and it'll slide right in no problem.  And, it also helps with rubbing.

Making chain straps shorter by wrapping.

Where are my fellow shorties at? This is a trick that helps with bags when the strap is just too long. This also can totally change the look of your bag.  Simply take your chain and wrap it around the flap that you're trying to shorten.

 First bring your strap over the top

Next wrap it underneath

Close your flap and now your strap is shortened

Use your finger to stop shadow fall out.

I use this trick all the time with my favorite glitter shadows that are just too messy with a brush.  Put a little on your finger and pat it on you eyelid and your eye is smoooooken hot.

Just dab on your lid.

Forgot eyeliner?  No worries, just use your eye shadow.

 Sometimes I see a shadow and think that would look amazing as a liner. Well take an angle brush (lip brushes work great too) and apply your shadow like an eyeliner.  I do this all the time with shadows to make some fun looks. It's just a great way to line your eye.

Looking a little pale but you have no blush?

Pinching your cheeks is sooo 2000.  All you need is your favorite lipstick.  Put a few dabs on your cheeks and rub it with your finger.  Works just like a cream blush, unless your favorite color is blue crush then you are just too cool for this tip.

Wish you could switch out from your bags everyday but don't have the time?

Use the pouch trick.  I put all of my items in small pouches, that way there is no worry when I switch from bag to bag.  When I go even smaller, I have a small pouch I can fit just the essentials in.  Not only does this save you time and keep your bag neat, but it also protects your lining from those scary pen marks!

 I can't find anything in my tote! Help!

Give a clutch a strap.

Are you not popping out your favorite party clutch because you don't want to to leave it on the table or carry it in your hand while you bring sexy back on the dance floor?  Well this hack is for you.  This works for those clutches with a top flap or a fold over. You can use your scarf or a chain strap.

Connect your strap or knot your scarf in the inner flap.

Close your flap and there you go!
