Say Yes to Renting the Dress!

There is a new trend taking the fashion world by storm! It is changing the way we shop and upping our fashion game. Clothing rentals! Not to be confused with Stitch fix where you have monthly clothing delivered and you decide what to buy. I am talking a wear and send back with the option to purchase. Now I first jumped on this band wagon when I was heading back to work from maternity leave. Nothing fit and I didn’t want to buy all new clothing I would only wear for a few months. What to do? I saw an ad for Letote on Facebook.

Letote is a monthly unlimited clothing rental service. Renting clothing and sending it back and then renting more. Netflix for your closet! Brilliant! They have different plan options and everything from work clothes to casual wear, bags and jewelry. I decided it was worth a try. I got the largest plan since I needed a full wardroom the 4 clothing piece plan. I picked my
items they arrived with in a day or two. I enjoy them and when I am finished and ready for something new I just put them in the mail. If I

want to keep something I just don't send it back and they charge for the item a few days later. Once they are scanned in by the USPS I am notified by text that I had more clothing to select. So easy and so exciting. I get the thrill of shopping for new items without the high price tag. Who doesn’t look in their closet and think they have nothing to wear? After this experience I was hooked and decided I need to see what else was out there. With some research I found Rent the Runway. They have higher end brands you can rent for an event or an unlimited plan that allows you to rent up to 4 pieces at a time. Keep them as long as you want and take more out once an item is returned. I started with renting just one item for a wedding I was attending 3 months after having a baby. They let me pick two sizes to insure I got one that fit . I picked the day that I needed by and they gave me a return by date. If the items weren't returned by that date then I would have to pay a fee. Now finding something to wear was a worry since I was 15 pounds over weight from my norm. That can take a hit on ones confidence. The dress I rented made me feel so beautiful and confident at the wedding. Wearing a high end dress that fit me without the heavy price tag was the icing on top. Best part is I didn’t have to dry-clean. It arrived cleaned and pressed. Now the weight is gone but I am hooked on how much fun I can have with my wardrobe. I have less clothing in my closet and always something to wear.  Now lets compare the services I use.

Which do I like better?

Value I would have to go with Letote

Letote is by far the most bang for your buck. I have changed my plan to the 2 clothing pieces and one accessory pieces for only $44 a month! I wear my outfit then put it in in the mail box when I am done! As soon as it is scanned by the mail carrier I get a notification to choose my items. I receive them (depending on if it is a weekend or not) in 2 days! They also suggest items for my tote for me and then I can choose the items I would like to try. Love that they let me know my fit in items based on my reviews. Because lets face it, our size varies based on the brands. Bonus If I decide to purchase my whole tote I get a month free! This is such a great value!

Who has the best items goes to Rent the Runway.
Shop the Look

I love the selection and brands more that they have then Letote. It does cost a lot more at $139 a month for unlimited. This is pricy but I get four items including designer bags and even dresses that retail over $1,000! The only draw back is that I have to drop my items off at a UPS drop box and wait for my items to be returned to Rent the Runway before I can pick any new items. This only takes (depending on if it is a weekend) 2 days and my new items ship out right away. (this also takes about two days) So from return to new item takes about 4 to 5 days depending in if it is a weekend or not.

Both companies have great user friendly aps which show reviews from other customers as well as the fit. This makes it easier to make a selection! Disclaimer: I have totally lost 2 hours looking at all the amazing clothing and adding them to my favorites.

Customer service Rent the Runway

I would have to say Rent the Runway is the best. (though I rarely have a problem) If I have Rent the Runway always responded in a a day or next day. For example I had snagged a button off one of their dresses and I wanted to let them know that I pinned it on the side.  Being an unlimited customer means, I have insurance included so there was no cost and they thanked me for letting them know! Another time UPS lost my item and they let me pick something else right away! No questions asked and told me to inform them if it shows up!

My experience with Letote was totally different. I had one item from Letote arrive damaged and I let them know. They never contacted me about it but I also never got charged for the damage. I have insurance included in my rental price, but I would have appreciated an email back. I wanted to make sure this piece didn’t go to someone else.

In the end I couldn't live without both! I intend to keep using these services with no end in sight for now. I hope this has been helpful to you. I really think this should be the next big thing since the little black dress! Please comment below if there are any questions I could answer for you.

I have linked my discount code below. I am not a sponsor for them but I do get a free box when you try it. Thanks for reading and make chic happen! Try Rent The Runway Try Letote
